Notable
- Sister academy to WMG Academy for Young Engineers, Coventry (opened 2014); this Solihull site opened in September 2016 in Chelmsley Wood as the trust's second academy, sharing the WMG/Warwick sponsorship and Jaguar Land Rover employer link
- Its own website still advertises a 'Good' Ofsted rating from a 2019 inspection, but its most recent inspection (1 October 2024) fell just after Ofsted stopped issuing an overall single-word grade for state schools. On that visit, Quality of Education, Behaviour & Attitudes and Leadership & Management were judged 'Requires improvement', while Personal Development and Sixth Form provision were judged 'Good' - a materially different picture from the headline 'Good' still shown on the school's own marketing
- Over £2 million of specialist engineering equipment on site, including three dedicated CAD/CAM suites
